Gordon Ramsay to host brand-new BBC gameshow Bank Balance

by

Gordon Ramsay is swapping the heat of the kitchen for the stress of a game show, it has been revealed.

The chef is famous for his x-rated outbursts in the likes of Hell's Kitchen, The F Word and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.

But he'll have to keep himself in check for Bank Balance.

The show is coming to BBC One primetime in 2021.

Gordon Ramsay has become famous for his x-rated outbursts but will need to control his emotions in his new show.

BBC describe it as 'a high-stakes, high-pressure game show where contestants test their poise, precision, knowledge and nerve to succeed to build themselves a fortune - or see it come crashing down in an instant.'

While he is the main star of the likes of Kitchen Nightmares and F Word, he's never had a hosting role.

The Scot said:

“This is going to be truly epic.

''It is such an intense game with so much jeopardy to win big and lose even bigger, where the difference between failure and success is always in the balance.

''I’m so happy to be working with the fantastic team at the BBC and cannot wait to get in the studio and start stacking those gold bars!"

Kate Phillips, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning, said:

“Bank Balance is a great format where contestants need to balance nerve with knowledge. And Gordon will be a formidable and unforgettable host."

Filming will begin later this year.
