Second video emerges of another child driving lorry down Northern Irish motorway

by

A SECOND video has emerged of a child driving a lorry down the M1 in Northern Ireland.

Last week police launched an investigation after footage emerged which appeared to show a young boy at the wheel of a lorry as it was travelling down a busy motorway near Dungannon in Co. Tyrone.

A 37-year-old was subsequently arrested following an appeal by officers for help from the public in identifying both the child and man involved in the clip after the first video circulated online.

Now it appears that a second video has been found, showing a young girl this time at the wheel of what appears to be the same lorry on a similar stretch of motorway.

In this latest video, a middle-aged man is briefly captured on camera before he leans away to avoid his face being seen.

A police spokesperson said today: "We are aware of footage which has been shared on social media and are making enquiries."

Following the unnamed 37-year-old's arrest, a PSNI spokesperson said: "Police, investigating an incident in which a video was shared online of a young boy driving a lorry, have arrested a 37-year-old man in the Cookstown area on suspicion of a number of offences including aiding and abetting driving whilst disqualified by reason of age and cruelty to children.

"The man is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries."
