'There's loads more to come': Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt's verdict on debutant

Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt believes there is 'loads more to come' from debutant Reiss Greenidge.

The 24-year-old turned out for the first time in a Wanderers shirt in a competitive match over the weekend in the defeat against Forest Green Rovers.

Greenidge started the match as part of the back three and was substituted on 70 minutes for Bright Amoateng as Wanderers sought an equaliser after going behind to Carl Winchester's strike.

The imposing defender had to wait to make his Wanderers debut due to a hamstring strain.

And following the defeat to the Green Devils, Evatt believes Greenidge did okay on his Wanderers debut and will get 'better and better'.

Evatt said: “I thought in the recent games we haven’t been physically demanding enough. I think we’ve allowed centre forwards to pin centre backs too easily.

"That didn’t happen today and I thought we were aggressive and too aggressive with the free-kick being given away that we’ve conceded from.

"He hasn’t played for a month. He’s trained for a week, Reiss will get better and better, but he’s a big physical unit who is mobile and he’ll improve.

"He’s a young player that is going to improve, but we’ve chucked him in the deep end today and I thought he did okay, but I know there’s loads more to come."

Greenidge came through the ranks at Arsenal and later at West Bromwich Albion, before moving to several different clubs.

He joined Wanderers over the summer having penned a two-year deal at the University of Bolton Stadium.
