Kylian Mbappe 'tells PSG he wants to leave' and more Man City transfer rumours
Manchester City could be one of the club on the hunt for Kylian Mbappe if he leaves Paris Saint-Germain.
by Daniel MurphyKylian Mbappe has told Paris-Saint Germain that he wants to leave the club next summer, according to reports.
PSG made Mbappe the second most expensive player in history when they signed him from Monaco in 2018 and they have been well rewarded for their investment.
The 21-year-old has become one of the best players in the world in Paris and has netted 90 goals, as well as a further 51 assists, for the club in just 124 games.
However, following their defeat in the Champions League final to Bayern Munich, according to The Times, Mbappe has told the Parisians that he plans to further his career elsewhere and leave at the end of the season.
The report doesn't list Manchester City as a potential destination - instead noting Real Madrid, Bracelona, Liverpool and Manchester United - but it's difficult to imagine that the Blues won't be a part of the conversation should the World Cup winner depart.
City have tried signing Mbappe in the past, he is a player who is loved by manager Pep Guardiola and they are one of the few clubs who have the financial muscle to be able to pull off a deal.
They may also be in the market for a new striker next summer, as all time top goal scorer Sergio Aguero's contract is currently set to expire in 2021. However, Lionel Messi may also finally be available on a free and City may decide to target him instead.

Meanwhile, Napoli are reportedly eyeing former City man Jason Denayer to replace Kalidou Koulibaly.
Koulibaly is City's top target this summer as they look to further strengthen their defensive options following the arrival of Nathan Ake.
According to The Sun, the Serie A side are weighing up a £22.5million offer for the Lyon defender which, coincidentally, would see City earn £4.5million due to a sell-on clause that was inserted in the deal when he was sold two years ago.
