Submission! Watch Ed Herman finish Mike Rodriguez after fake low blow at UFC Vegas 10

by

Veteran fighter Ed Herman ended up submitting Mike Rodriguez earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 12, 2020) at UFC Vegas 10 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, but “Short Fuse” had to overcome some controversy to get there.

Rodriguez controlled this fight from the opening bell and utilized his length to hurt Herman from distance, specifically to the body. In Round 2, “Slow” hurt Herman bad with two knees to the body along the cage. The second curled Herman up and sent him to the canvas, but the referee thought Rodriguez had landed a low blow. The replay clearly showed that Rodriguez’s knee hit Herman’s body, but “Short Fuse” still played it up to earn some breathing time and collect himself heading into the third.

In Round 3, Herman was able to quickly close the gap and gain control of Rodriguez on the mat. The veteran, despite nearly losing the fight just minutes before, pressured Rodriguez and eventually locked up a nasty kimura to finish the job.

The stoppage can be seen above courtesy of UFC/ESPN.

After the fight, Herman addressed the low blow in Round 2 and what was running through his head as he took time to recover.

What do you think, Maniacs? is this submission win by Herman marred in controversy?

Let’s hear it!
