Dortmund release fresh Jadon Sancho statement

Borussia Dortmund chiefs have released another statement when asked about Jadon Sancho and a potential summer move to Manchester United during this transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund have released a fresh statement when it comes to Jadon Sancho's move to Manchester United.

The German outfit confirmed on Monday that a deal was off, with the Red Devils missing the August 10 deadline set by the Bundesliga side.

While United remain committed to landing the 20-year-old, Dortmund are standing firm and expect Sancho to be their player when the top flight restarts on September 18.

And head of footballing operations Sebastian Kehl has doubled down on the club's initial statement, announcing they are happy Sancho will remain beyond the summer.

"It was important to get clarity on the subject," Kehl told SID.

"We know about Jadon's attractiveness, but also of his importance to us. He gives our team that little extra. We're happy that he's staying."

Kehl's comments echo Zorc's, with the fellow Dortmund chief announcing an end to the saga on Monday.

"We plan on having Jadon Sancho in our team this season, the decision is final. I think that answers all our questions," Zorc told reporters.

"Last summer, we adjusted Jadon's salary to match the development of his performances.

"So in context, we had already extended his contract until 2023 back then."

Sancho started from the outset for Dortmund on Wednesday, helping his side to a 6-0 friendly win in Austria.

The player broke his silence after the match, admitting he was happy to be a part of the Dortmund setup.

“I love playing with this lot. It’s a special bunch. We’ve got some special young players coming up,” said Sancho.

“I’m really happy to share the pitch with them and guide them.

“I joined when I was 17, some of the lads are the same age. I’ve been there and done that.

"I can guide them in what’s good and what isn’t. I can hopefully motivate them as well.”

United continue to seek a deal for Sancho, who is valued at over £100m by Dortmund bosses.
