Sushant Singh Rajput death case: NCB arrests six people in drug probe
The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested six more people in the drug probe. The agency made many raids in different parts of Mumbai and Goa on Saturday.
by Tanseem HaiderThe Mumbai Zonal Unit of Narcotics Control Bureau arrested six persons in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput drugs controversy. The arrested men will be produced before the ACMM Court tomorrow via video conferencing. The persons arrested by the NCB are identified as Karamjeet Singh, Dwayne Fernandes, Sanket Patel, Ankush Arneja, Sandeep Gupta and Aftab Fateh Ansari. The NCB conducted multiple raids across Mumbai and Goa. The raids were led by Sameer Wankhede.
The details of the arrested persons are as follows:
Karamjeet Singh Anand
Drug Supplier. He has a local distribution channel of drugs in the cine world.
Dwayne Fernandes
Mumbai based drug dealer. He deals in curated marijuana and hash. Associate of Showik Chakraborty and supplied drugs meant for Sushant Singh Rajput.
Sandeep Gupta
An auto rickshaw driver by profession. But his main job was to supply bulk quantities of weed to retail dealers, like Dwayne in this case.
Sanket Patel
Distribution chain guy of Karamjeet. He used to deliver narcotic stuff to celebrities.
Aftab Fateh Ansari
Associate of Sandeep Gupta. He used to operate wholesale procurement channel of weed for Sandeep and further distribution.
Ankush Arneja
Ankush runs a kitchen in a posh area of Mumbai and sells narcotics stuff like weed, hash and MD to high profile individuals. He used to buy stuff from Sanket and was connected with the network of Anuj Keshwani and Karamjeet Singh.
The NCB has made many raids in the case after arresting Showik Chakraborty and Rhea Chakraborty. Showik revealed names of many drug peddlers who used to supply him drugs. He had confessed to the NCB that he arranged hash and curated marijuana for Sushant Singh Rajput. After three days of questioning, Rhea was arrested for allegedly arranging drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput.
The bail pleas of Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty, along with that of Samuel Miranda, Zaid Vilatra, Basit Parihar and Dipesh Sawant, were rejected by the Mumbai Sessions Court on Friday (September 11). They are under NCB custody till September 22. Satish Maneshinde, lawyer of Rhea and Showik, on Friday said that they will decide on the course ahead this week. They may move the Bombay High Court for their bail.
