Trevor Lawrence Tweets Message Before His 2020 Debut

The 2020 Clemson Tigers football season begins on Saturday as the national title runner-ups head north to take on ACC rival Wake Forest. And you can bet that Trevor Lawrence is excited for it.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Lawrence couldn’t contain his excitement at the thought of the new season. He made it clear that he’s ready for gameday.

“Let’s play some football!!” Lawrence wrote. “2 days away [high-fives].”

Lawrence’s sentiment is shared by just about everyone – Clemson fans and haters alike. His tweet already has over 3,700 likes in just a few minutes, and comments in agreement are pouring in from across the country.

For obvious reasons, the 2020 Clemson schedule will be very different from previous years. In-state arch-rival South Carolina as well as Akron were both pulled from the schedule. It will be the first time since 1908 that the Tigers do not take on the Gamecocks in a college football season.

But the Tigers still have 10 games in the ACC – including a November 7 showdown at Notre Dame Stadium against the newly-minted ACC temporary member, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Clemson season without at least one cupcake on the schedule. In-state FCS minnow The Citadel will play that role next weekend in the Tigers’ home opener at Memorial Stadium.

What kind of a season will Trevor Lawrence and the Tigers have in 2020?
