A treat of safety and taste

Idli and Dosa have always been Hyderabadis’ favourite breakfast choice. In recent times, these cuisines are available throughout the day with a plethora of toppings like upma, cheese, butter, and so on. But how far are these bandis going towards maintaining hygiene?

This is what differentiates 20-year-old ‘Bhattad Ki Idli’ started by Govindlal and Meena Bhatt. Taken over by their sons Ritesh and Yogesh Bhatt presently, the street food restaurant, famous for its tiffins has now opened a fourth outlet on Minister Road.

“We are very focused on hygiene and food quality which is our USP. Even before the pandemic, we made sure we clean and sanitise our kitchen every 15 days. Also, when it comes to food quality, we never went a step back. We change the batter every 6 hours as we serve fermented foods and the batter gets over-fermented after 6 hours,” shares Ritesh Bhattad.

Serving hot delicacies from dawn to dusk, the eatery had recently made a campaign during the pandemic. “We offered a 10 per cent discount to customers who order through phone and make online payments to encourage the practice. Through phone orders, customers don’t have to be around and can simply pick up the order abiding to safety measures,” says Ritesh.

The campaign came to hold from September 1 as people started ordering online or over the phone naturally.

Although, the eatery is open for walk-in customers with WHO safety measures being actively taken. The other ‘Bhattad Ki Idli’ outlets are in Qutbiguda, Malakpet and Narayanguda. So, to treat your taste buds with some spicy and tangy tiffins with a confidence of safety, just drive past everything to ‘Bhattad Ki Idli’.
