What time is Coronation Street on? ITV soap finally returns to full schedule

by

Up until March Coronation Street was on six times a week.

Filming for the long-running ITV soap, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2020 and aired its landmark 10,000th episode in February this year, had to stop in the spring due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As a result, the number of episodes being shown each week had to be halved, meaning fans had to live with a reduced schedule of three episodes per week during the summer months.

However, now filming has restarted on Weatherfield’s famous cobbles, ITV bosses are returning Coronation Street’s schedule to its normal six episodes per week.

Coronation Street is joined by fellow ITV soap Emmerdale in returning to a full run of six episodes a week from Monday.

Meanwhile BBC bosses took its soap, Eastenders, off air completely over the summer during the pandemic.

The 35-year-old show returned with four episodes last week after a three-month break, with the first episodes slightly shorter than usual.
