Tropical Depression Twenty-One forms over eastern Atlantic
Expected to be short-lived
by Emily McCainMIAMI — Tropical Depression Twenty-One formed over the far eastern Atlantic on Monday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
The new system formed just after Tropical Depression Twenty strengthened into Tropical Storm Teddy.
The system is 330 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands with 35 mph maximum sustained winds and it's moving north at 6 mph.
NHC says the system will slightly strengthen Monday and Monday night, and could briefly become a tropical storm. It's then forecast to weaken Tuesday night or sooner.
