A Dominic Calvert-Lewin second half header was the difference as Everton stunned Tottenham 1-0 in their Premier League curtain-raiser on Sunday, September 13.
Everton paraded a much-changed side from last season with Carlo Ancelotti lining up new signings for their debuts - James Rodriguez, Allan and Doucoure.
James Rodriguez, who recently joined the Toffees from Real Madrid was the shining light in the first half of the match as the visitors dominated proceedings from the opening exchanges.
Both sides created a number of good goal-scoring chances, with Everton going closest in the 16th minute through Richarlison as he screwed his effort wide of the near post.

Son Heung-Min had a chance to break the deadlock eight minutes later but missed the target by yards.
Dele Alli and Matt Doherty also went close before half-time but were denied by Jordan Pickford who was brilliant for Everton.

Calvert-Lewin went on to score the winner just 10 minutes after the restart, heading home past a helpless Hugo Lloris from Digne's curled free-kick.
Neither side could find the back of the net afterwards as the Merseyside club sneaked home with all the three points.
