The Salvation Army during the Pandemic

The Salvation Army continues to adapt and evolve in the present times of pandemic to help those most in need.

Over the past 6 months, we have been extending our help even further to support a greater number of people, mainly with food parcels, face masks and alcohol and in many situations, providing some guidance in the present difficulties.

Because Covid-19 has had a tremendous impact on the economy, the number of households needing support continues to increase and we have been doing all we can to meet this ongoing demand.

With the opening of schools, we are preparing our usual project of packs for children, to help children from families in this difficult time.

With support of many friends, contributors and volunteers, The Salvation Army maintains their commitment to help around two hundred families every month, providing hot meals, food parcels, masks, alcohol, medicine and psychological help when needed.

Over 40 computers have been distributed to children during the lockdown to ensure that school lessons and connections with the teachers were kept, as well as a few tablets and computers to seniors, allowing them to maintain their lessons with the senior university.

To some families identified with Covid-19 Virus, and under lock down, food, water and medicine was left at their door allowing them to have the essentials to go through the 15 days quarantine.

Shopping services were provided to those inside the risk group during the pandemic.

We have been committed to ensure no one is left out, during such difficult times and we are so thankful to all of you who make The Salvation Army an organisation worthy of your support and trust, and we will continue for as long as we are still needed.
