New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday announced on the social media that he tested positive for Covid-19 after having mild symptoms of fever.
Though he said he feels better now, the senior Aam Aadmi Party leader has gone into self-isolation as a precautionary measure.
“After having a mild fever, the corona test was conducted today, whose report has come positive. I have kept myself in seclusion. Right now there is no fever or any other problem, I am completely fine. Soon after getting all your blessings, I will return to work,” Sisodia said on social media platform Twitter.
Earlier in the day, state Health Minister Satyendar Jain was confident that the Covid-19 situation in the national capital will be under control soon and urged people not to panic.
“The Covid-19 situation will be soon under control. We are testing more than 60,000 people every day. There is no need to panic, but people should be cautious and use face mask and follow other measures to prevent spread of the virus,” Jain said during a one-day session in the Delhi Assembly.
He said that the Delhi government was the “first in the world” to begin home isolation.
“We learnt from wherever we could in the fight against coronavirus and maintained transparency. Delhi government was the first in the world to start home isolation. We started use of pulse oximeters. I want to clarify that the treatment of corona in government hospitals is in no way less better than in private hospitals,” he said, adding that the highest number of coronavirus-related tests across the country are being done in Delhi.
