Kitchener council to vote on winter sidewalk clearing

The recommended option is to have assisted clearing for residents across the city that can't otherwise clear sidewalks themselves, due to age or medical condition

It may still be summer, but the winter season will be top of mind at Kitchener city council Monday night.

Council will be looking to vote on what the sidewalk clearing landscape will look like in that city in the coming months.

The recommended option is to have a city-wide assisted services for people who can't move snow due to age or medical condition, at a cost of about $230,000 a year in operations costs.

There are five options in the report (which you can find HERE), with the most expensive looking at the city taking on the clearing on their own, for over $10-million dollars.

Council meets at 7:00 p.m.
