There Is A Different Feel This Time: AB De Villiers On RCB’s Squad For IPL 2020
by Yash MittalAB de Villiers, former South African cricketer, has heaped high praise on his teammate and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli for how he sets an example for his team and always leads from the front.
De Villiers is gearing up for the 13th season of the Indian Premier League. The swashbuckling right-handed batsman, who has featured in 154 matches for RCB since making his debut for the franchise in 2011, opened up about the practice sessions, adding that each and every member of the franchise has brought in to the hard-working environment and that he is really excited to see the final product of the hard work that they are putting in when the season eventually kicks off on September 19.
“We have worked very hard, we have a good work ethic, it really feels like everyone has bought into this hard-working environment. The credit needs to go to Virat, he sets the example and leads from the front. It is pretty easy to follow when you have a captain leading from the front. I am just excited to see the final product of this hard work,” AB de Villiers said in a video posted by the Royal Challengers Bangalore Twitter handle.
‘I am feeling better than ever’- AB de Villiers
The 13th season of the IPL was originally supposed to take place between March 29-May 24 but it was eventually postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. AB de Villiers said that the clarity about the IPL taking place this year happened a month back. He also went on to praise the BCCI for the efforts that they have put in to ensure that the cash-rich league goes ahead this year.
‘Mr 360’ is pumped for the upcoming season and he feels that there is a different feel about his side this time around.
“I think the clarity about the IPL happening came one month back, more or less. BCCI has done a remarkable job in getting the IPL going and we are very excited to play the tournament. I am feeling better than ever so I am looking to get out there with the boys,” AB de Villiers added.
“There is a different feel this time, there is back up everywhere looking at our options,” he said.
ABD reckoned that the squad is bolstered with plenty of backup options in every department and it will be up to Virat Kohli and the coaches to pick the best possible playing XI.
“Virat and coaches can find the best playing XI, there are options in every single department, be it batting, bowling, and fielding,” he added.
