Vivo Watch, the first smartwatch from smartphone maker Vivo set to launch September 22
by Sanjiv SathiahVivo is set to release its first smartwatch dubbed, unimaginatively, the Vivo Watch. In leaked photos and promo materials we can discern that the Vivo Watch official unveiling is less than two weeks away on September 22. Design-wise it most closely resembles Samsung’s Galaxy Watch and features a premium metal body in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes combined with premium leather straps.
It isn't clear what SoC is powering the Vivo Watch but it is almost certainly not running Google WearOS. Like Samsung, Vivo has opted for a bespoke solution which is tipped to be a specialized fork of its Android-based FunTouchOS. It is expected to be water resistant to 5 ATM and include contemporary health tracking features including blood oxygen sensing, heart rate monitor and the usual connectivity including GPS for location and NFC for mobile payment
The Vivo Watch will come in four colors dubbed Mocha, Mixia, Shadow and Fengshang while it will be priced at the equivalent of around US$145. At this stage it is unclear if there are any plans to release the Vivo Watch globally with the company most likely testing the waters in its home market of China first. If you’re keen to get one, we will learn everything there is to know about the Vivo Watch in just under two weeks from no
