Report: Tottenham lead race for Gareth Bale, Daniel Levy ready to back deal if possible

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading a chase to sign Real Madrid forward, Gareth Bale, with Daniel Levy apparently ready to back the move if it makes financial sense. 

That is according to 90Min, who claim that Spurs are ready to move for Bale in what would be a potential loan move. It is believed Real Madrid are now willing to sell or subsidise a loan move for Bale, who earns a whopping £600k-a-week in Madrid.

Bale has a number of clubs interested in him in the PL, including the likes of Everton and Leicester, while Manchester United are another name who are continually linked with the Welsh winger.

However, it is claimed by 90Min that Daniel Levy could be prepared to back Jose Mourinho with a move for Bale, if he can make it work and the numbers add up in Spurs’ favour.

The signing of Bale would represent a massive coup for the club and would reunite them with a player who was outstanding in north London prior to sealing a move to Spain.

Bale has been treated pretty harshly in Spain if you look from the outside in and it would be great to see him back in the PL.

If he can come back to Spurs and recapture that form he showed before leaving then they’d have a genuine world-class star on their hands and someone who could drive them towards the top four.

If Daniel Levy pulls this off, then, for all the critics he has had in his time at Spurs, it would truly be a masterstroke. Praise, then, would be richly-deserved for the Spurs supremo.
