by Mark WakefieldFormer Swansea City star Conor Gallagher looks set to join a Premier League club on a loan deal for rest of the season.
The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with the Swans from Chelsea, and was a key player in their rise to the Championship play-offs.
Now, according to a report in Football.London, Gallagher is set to join West Bromwich Albion on loan for the rest of the season.
The report goes on to state that Gallagher has also put pen to paper on a new contract at Chelsea, extending his deal with the Blues before agreeing to join the Baggies on loan.
A host of clubs had expressed an interest in signing Gallagher, it has been claimed, including Aston Villa and Leeds United.
After stints with the Swans and Charlton Athletic last term, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard felt that a loan move to a Premier League club would be better for the player’s development.
During Gallagher’s time with the Swans last season, the versatile midfielder contributed seven assists for his team mates in 21 appearances in the Championship.
