New Delhi: Shiv  Sena’s Sanjay Raut in his column ‘Rokhthok’ in party mouthpiece Saamana claimed there is a conspiracy to defame Mumbai.

Invoking ‘Marathi Pride’, Raut slammed the BJP for standing behind Bollywood superstar Kangana Ranaut who had called Mumbai ‘Pakistan Occupied Kashmir’, Taliban and then Babar.

An unknown force is systematically conspiring against Mumbai, said Raut adding that efforts are being made to systematically erase the Marathi man and his identity.

'Thackeray a brand of Maharashtra's self-esteem'

“By supporting Sushant Singh Rajput and Kangana they want to win the Bihar elections. It is a struggle to get the votes of the upper caste Rajputs of Bihar,” said the Shiv Sena MP.

Calling ‘Thackeray’ a brand of Maharashtra’s self-esteem, Raut called ‘Pawar’ another important brand saying the conspiracy to destroy this brand from Mumbai and then take control of the city has been exposed again.

This statement by Raut comes after Shiv Sena without naming Kangana conveyed 'Mubarak Ho' to the Bollywood actress adding that the country's commercial capital is quite accustomed to such controversies.

"Like Draupadi's 'chirharan" (disrobing) by the Kauravas while the Pandavas kept their heads down, even now we are witnessing a similar scenario," said the Sena in party mouthpiece.

The article further asked that though it is well-known that Mumbai symbolises 'national integrity' then why 'Controversy-Mafia' always blow this trumpet only for Mumbai and not in any other state capital?

It further said that the foundation of the Indian film industry was laid by Dadasaheb Phalke, a Maharashtrian, and artists have achieved success in the industry due to talent and not religion.

Shiv Sena is facing flak over the demolition of Kangana Ranaut's bungalow and attack on the retired Naval veteran who had shared a cartoon lampooning Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on a WhatsApp group.

Yesterday, Raut shared a note on his Twitter justifying the attack on the former Indian Navy officer calling it a “spontaneous” and “angry” reaction.
