HEMMSA made a very promising start to her career here and the end of July and should take all the beating in this with Ray Dawson’s claim an added bonus. Baba Reza has been improving with racing but may have to settle for a place again. Professor Galant lacks scope but Lady Danger didn’t get much of a run at Salisbury on her second start and has cheekpieces fitted today to help her concentrate.

This is the weaker of the two divisions of this maiden auction stakes and it would be no surprise to The Mousen Champ got off the mark at the fifth attempt even though he ran poorly in a nursery at Hamilton when last seen. Debutante Time Frame is a viable alternative but we’ll take Hollie Doyle to steer BUMBLE BEEE to success given Ben Haslam’s filly was keeping on when hampered in the closing stages at Ripon.

State Occasion was a close third behind a winner who went close in a nursery at Doncaster last week off a mark of 80 and connections will be hoping she can make it third-time lucky here. But MYSTERY SHOW showed plenty of promise on debut at Yarmouth when placed behind last week’s May Hill Stakes winner Indigo Girl and, with normal progress, may have the former’s measure. The others with experience need more but Myrtle Maclagan, Always Dreaming and Lady Argento are all worth a market check.

Final Attack was due to run here yesterday so that run should be monitored. Beverley Bullet hasn’t been disgraced in better company since winning here in March but BELL HEATHER takes an even bigger drop in grade. She has form on the track and may be capable of ending the winning run of Recuerdame conceding only a pound. The Lords Walk is starting to look well treated and may be the pick of the remainder.

This looks a bit more competitive than the first division. Waqaas won over 7f here in July before finding 6f too short at Chepstow. Plansina has been hinting at a revival and has dropped a further 2lb in the ratings. Aiden's Reward won on Tapeta at Newcastle in February and has placed on Turf since and Critical Thinking goes well here. Traveller, Mabo and Dark Devil also warrant a mention but PINK JAZZ has only found one too good in his last two runs on the all-weather off this mark and deserves a change of luck.

FINAL THOUGHT was runner-up to a subsequent Group 2 winner on his second start at Yarmouth and a good run from Mystery Show earlier on the card would enhance his claims in this nursery. We may not have yet seen the best of Zookeeper, who is eased in grade, while Farhan has already placed twice here and wasn’t disgraced in between at York. Eagle's Realm gets cheekpieces after disappointing at Ayr but Hafez and There's No Danger require improvement. Glowing For Gold produced a much-improved performance to score at Chelmsford and it will be interesting to see if he can follow that up.

Bill Knight’s runners have a decent strike-rate here and his three-year-old SELSEY SIZZLER ran well enough on his first try over 2m at Lingfield to suggest he has the requisite stamina for this. Dropped 2lb since, he gets the vote getting weight from some exposed and modest stayers. Kaisan won over track and trip last month and was a bit unlucky here 12 days ago off a 4lb higher mark. He’s been raised a further 3lb but should be thereabouts again. Stablemate Earthly also has a squeak and Mizen Master should have improved for his run at Bath and may well reverse that running with Sinndarella.

Araifjan has been raised 5lb for a recent course and distance victory but that first success will have boosted confidence. Fancy Footings was also a winner here last month and is only 2lb higher but Yolo Again is struggling for form, though is eased in the weights again. Vandad boasts decent form on Polytrack and could figure if taking to this surface but Colouring may need another run. FAST SPIN (NAP) was conceding weight to the smart Ropey Guest at Chelmsford but made the odds-on favourite work hard for victory. A winner here previously, he has to head the shortlist with his yard still in cracking form.

PASSIONAL should be another for the Crisfords as she was badly hampered at the start when favourite at Bath three weeks ago but still finished second and has more scope than these. Six times a winner on the all-weather, Precious Plum will have needed her run here in July. You're Cool is better treated on Turf at present and out of sorts but Hard Solution is becoming more consistent and this is his grade. Awsaaf switched stables after finishing second in a seller at Ripon but has won three times here so can’t be ignored.
