NBA Player Allegedly Had Female Testing Official In His Room
by Andrew HolleranThe Houston Rockets could reportedly be without key forward Danuel House Jr. for Game 4 against the Lakers on Thursday night.
House is reportedly under investigation by the NBA for a possible bubble violation.
“House, the Rockets’ sixth man, has denied any violation on a matter that has the league probing his activity within the team hotel, sources said.
He did not leave the perimeter of the campus, sources said,” ESPN reported on Wednesday night.
Yahoo! Sports NBA insider Chris Haynes has since reported details of the alleged violation. He is under investigation for potentially allowing a female testing employee into his hotel room.
From the report:
Houston Rockets reserve Danuel House Jr. is under investigation by the league for allegedly allowing a female COVID-19 testing official into his hotel room, and his status for the remainder of the Western Conference semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers is in question, sources told Yahoo Sports.
House maintains his innocence, sources said, and a decision from the league is expected before Game 4 on Thursday.
House did not play in Game 3 due to “personal reasons.” The Rockets said at the time that his absence was not COVID-19 related.
Houston trails Los Angeles, 2-1, in the Western Conference semifinals. Game 4 is scheduled to tipoff this evening.
House, 27, averaged 10.5 points and 4.2 rebounds a game during the regular season. He had 13 points and five rebounds in Game 2.
