Man killed, ten others injured in Brisbane gang brawl

by

A man has been killed and two others are fighting for life after a gang brawl in Brisbane overnight.

Emergency services were called to a park along Jennings Street in Zillmere around 5.30pm, following reports a massive brawl had broken out between two groups of youths.

Witnesses report that some people wielded bats and knives in the conflict, which resulted in the death of a 20 year-old-man.

Ten others were also injured in the fight, with two in critical conditions in hospital.

Police are now investigating the incident, which they believe may have been some sort of revenge attack for another incident which happened earlier last week.

Police are concerned that further revenge attacks could take place, with extra officers stationed at hospitals around Brisbane to protect the victims.

The community is being urged to remain calm during this time, while anyone with information about the attack or those involved is being urged to get in contact with police.
