Vaccine trial to resume
The trial of an experimental COVID-19 vaccine that was halted after a participant fell ill is set to resume in Mumbai. The decision comes after the UK’s Medicine Health Regulatory Authority confirmed that the trials were safe, and pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford on Saturday said that clinical trials will resume in Britain. “There is no reason why they should not start in Mumbai. We will restart the trials in the coming week,” said Mumbai’s municipal commissioner IS Chahal, adding the Drugs Controller General of India had also issued clearance. — PMB
