Barca director Xavi Vilajoana ready to take electoral leap alone

SPORT can report that Barca director Xavi Vilajoana has decided to take a leap out on his own and become a candidate for the coming presidential election.
The Barca B, women's side, youth and formative football director is ready to make his own bid for the presidency. In his playing career he moved from a player to a football sala player and reached Barca's first team, something unique.
He was thinking about this even before Emili Rousaud was chosen as the continuity candidate - even though he later resigned.
Vilajoana would start from zero, leaving the board to go it alone. He would have to resign but that is not the problem. The issue is that if he did, it would leave the board with 13 members and the statutes oblige them to have 14 at least.
If he decides to go for it, there would be 10 pre-candidates for the election!
