Report: Son Heung-min reiterates to Tottenham board importance of signing

by

Football website 90Min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min has reiterated to the Spurs board for a second time the importance of signing Beijing Guoan defender Kim Min-jae, amid reports Spurs are interested.

Kim, 23, has been long linked with the Premier League after the 30-time South Korea international enjoyed an excellent first campaign with Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan last season. He is nicknamed ‘the monster’.

Earlier this summer, the report claims Spurs saw an offer for Kim rejected – but the north London side remain keen. It is believed that Son has played an integral part in Spurs’ pursuit, and has delivered a glowing recommendation on Kim’s behalf.

Initially backing a move, Son has now pleaded with the Spurs hierarchy to get a deal done. Lazio have made an offer but it is similar to the offer rejected by Guoan earlier this summer, while Daniel Levy does not want to spend more than £10million.

TBR’s view – A potential bargain this summer?

At just £10million, Levy will be licking his lips. Kim is young, good on the ball and is already drawing comparisons with Virgil van Dijk. At such a low figure, surely he is worth the risk – even with his lack of experience at club level?

Having South Korea captain and national teammate Son by his side at Spurs will only aid the centre-back in terms of adapting to life in England. If Spurs can get him for that cheap, it should be a no brainer.
