Manchester United 'preparing opening offer for Sergio Reguilon' and more transfer rumours
Man United are monitoring Sergio Reguilon this summer and are reportedly preparing an opening bid - plus more transfer gossip.
by Daniel MurphyManchester United are preparing their opening bid for Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon, according to reports.
M.E.N. Sport understands that United are working on up to three more signings this summer before the October 5 deadline, having already brought in Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
Attacking signings remain the focus, with Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho still the number one target, but it's understood that the club are also monitoring a number of left-backs.
The position proved troublesome for United in the tail end of last season, with another injury to Luke Shaw meaning he missed the run-in and his replacement, teenager Brandon Williams, suffered for form.
Reguilon is one of the left-backs United have on their radar after an impressive season on loan at Sevilla, with the club experiencing first hand how good he is when he helped defeat them in the Europa League semi-finals on their way to winning the tournament.
It was reported that the La Liga side were keen to bring him back for another loan spell but have now confirmed the signing of another left-back in Marcos Icuna, opening the door for United.
According to the Guardian, United are preparing their opening offer in attempt to sign the 23-year-old, who would like to move to Old Trafford.
However, it's claimed that United are unwilling to meet Madrid's £27.2million valuation and are hoping to persuade the Spanish champions to accept a lower offer.

Another potential sticking point in negotiations is that Madrid are hoping to add a buy-back clause in the deal but United are unwilling to do so. But, it's reported, agreeing personal terms with Reguilon shouldn't be a problem as he is eager to complete the move.
Elsewhere, United will turn their attentions to Ivan Perisic if they fail to sign Sancho, according to the Telegraph.
The report says United are ready to walk away from a deal for Sancho, and have turned their attentions to Inter forward Perisic, who impressed at Bayern Munich last season.
The Croatian has been heavily linked with United in the past but, at 31, he is outside the club's ideal age range for new signings.
