Desmond Howard, ESPN Announce Major Contract News

by

Desmond Howard has been a mainstay of ESPN’s college football coverage for years and that isn’t changing anytime soon.

The longtime College GameDay host has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the network ahead of the 2020 college football season.

Howard, who starred collegiately at Michigan, winning a Heisman Trophy, could not be more excited about his future with ESPN.

“I’m excited about that. Happy,” Howard told The Detroit News. “It’s been an incredible run, and I’ve been blessed to be with some great teammates. To have that job and to grow with guys like Herbstreit and (Chris) Fowler and Corso, to start off with those guys and to be able to grow and develop and mature into the analyst that I’ve become so far is a blessing.

“That’s the ‘A team’ (laughing). To be a part of that now is special, it’s a blessing.”

ESPN’s College GameDay is arguably the best show in sports. And Howard is a big part of that, along with Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Rece Davis.

The college football pregame show will look a little different this fall, as there won’t be hundreds of cheering fans behind the set. However, the show will go on.

ESPN’s College GameDay will air from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. E.T. on Saturday, live from Clemson vs. Wake Forest.
