New coronavirus restrictions including 'rule of six' come into force in Scotland
Nicola Sturgeon announced the new measures last week as cases continue to spike.
by Samantha Croal, https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/authors/samantha-croal/A maximum of six people from two households are allowed to meet together in Scotland from today as new coronavirus restrictions come into force.
The limit on gatherings applies when people meet in restaurants, pubs and beer gardens, as well as in homes.
Children under the age of 12, who are part of the two households meeting do not count towards the limit of six people.
There are "some limited exceptions", covering gyms, childcare settings, schools, organised sports and places of worship.
Up to 20 people can attend weddings, civil partnerships and funerals, as well as receptions and wakes.
The restrictions do not overrule current local restrictions where no one is allowed to visit inside other people's homes.
These measures have been introduced in lasgow, East or West Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and North or South Lanarkshire.

The new restrictions will also enforce the wearing of face masks indoors at bars and restaurants, and should only be removed to eat or drink.
The changes come as coronavirus cases continue to rise, with 244 cases being confirmed on Sunday.
Nicola Sturgeon said local lockdown restrictions were regrettable but necessary to curb the spread of Covid19.
