This Is When 2021 Ford Bronco Production Will Begin
Thanks to a new leaked document, we now know when the new Ford Bronco will start production.
by Martin BiggThe 2021 Ford Bronco hasn't entered production yet, but the reborn off-roader is already a resounding success for the Blue Oval automaker.
Demand for the new Bronco has been astronomically high, as Ford reportedly received over 230,000 reservations within the first few weeks. The limited First Edition also sold out in less than 24 hours, prompting Ford to increase the production run to 7,000 units. Now, thanks to a leaked document obtained by Bronco6G, we have a better idea when the production of the new Bronco will begin. Production of the new Bronco will take place at Ford's Michigan Assembly Plant alongside the Ford Ranger.
The document comes from Precision Inventory Management, a service that dealers use to order Ford and Lincoln models. According to the leaked document, the first examples of the new Bronco are expected to roll off the production line in March 2021. However, the forum user who shared the leak noted that other vehicles listed are a month behind the scheduled production dates on the document, so the Bronco is more likely to start rolling off the assembly line in April 2021.
While production is expected to start in March or April next year, buyers will still have a long wait to get behind the wheel of the brand new Bronco.
Ford is expecting to start customer deliveries in June 2021. But because demand for the off-roader has exceeded expectations, some customers may have to wait until 2022 to drive the new Bronco. Pricing for the 2021 Ford Bronco starts at $28,500, while the Bronco Sport will set you back at least $26,660. Placing a reservation for either model requires a refundable $100 deposit.
Under the hood, the 2021 Ford Bronco is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder rated at 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque as standard of an optional 2.7-liter turbo V6 with 310 hp and 400 lb-ft. Power is sent through either a ten-speed automatic or a seven-speed manual transmission.
