The 2020 edition of Hell In A Cell event was previously slated to go down on November 1st. It is the same day that WWE’s current deal with the Amway Center expires. The company still has the options open to renew its contract, if needed. But for now, they just wanted to assure one more event at the ThunderDome.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that WWE moved the date for Hell In A Cell to October 25th. It was noted that they may have done so to insert an additional PPV date into the ThunderDome.

The move wasn’t an easy decision for the WWE as Hell in a Cell will face competition on October 25th. The event goes down the day after Impact Wrestling’s Bound For Glory event. It is now also slated on the same night as UFC 254 which will feature Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje.

WWE was expected to conduct at least three pay-per-view events under the new residency at the WWE ThunderDome. It was reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE had three confirmed pay-per-view dates that come under the 60-day residency at this arena, beginning with SummerSlam on August 23rd.

After this, Payback went down on August 30, and Clash of Champions will be on September 27. The source previously noted that WWE would at least produce the Clash of Champions pay-per-view at the ThunderDome. They didn’t have a scheduled pay-per-view for October but that is not the case after the rescheduling of Hell in a Cell.

As noted above, the contract with ThunderDome can always be renewed, based on the then situation. Touring schedule and sports teams willing to run arena events with fans could be a factor while renewing the dates at this facility. But then again it’s Florida which is more than home for the WWE and depending on their performance and the TV success in this facility, the booking dates could always be extended.

WWE has taken the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida aka ThunderDome in a lease for two months. They have the Orlando arena until the end of October, for now. Considering the stay could have been extended, in the future. It depends on the officials or the situation whether they can opt to stay longer, at this place.

Following Clash of Champions, WWE has three more pay-per-view dates intact on their calendar as of now – Hell In a Cell on October 25th, Survivor Series on November 22, and TLC on December 20. WrestleVotes informed that Hell In a Cell was scheduled for October 18 in Atlanta; Survivor Series for November 22 in Dallas; TLC on December 20 in Chicago. But these venues are likely to change considering how the coronavirus pandemic hasn’t slowed down.
