Nigerians have taken to social media to express their displeasure over a video of ex-governor Abiola Ajimobi's final resting place.

In a video that emerged on social media, the final resting place of the late former governor of Oyo state was built like a mausoleum.

There is an air conditioner and uninterrupted power supply where the late politician was laid to rest.

Nigerians took to the comment section to air their opinions.

A Twitter user with the handle @Omarigbebi is of the opinion that the deceased would be rewarded if the space was turned into a Quranic learning class.

He wrote: "If they had turned this small space to a masjid or a Quranic recital/learning class the rewards will follow him until the earth is no more.May what we leave behind us on earth be a blessing to us Ameen. May Allah forgive you&grant you Aljannat firdausi Ajimobi."

Another Twitter user with the handle @AY_hassan_ wrote: "See misplaced priority."

@AdeElegbede wrote: "That is how the family want it. He's dead and gone. Find solutions to the refinery and electric tariff hike."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that barely a month after the death of her husband, Florence Ajimobi stated that the late former governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, lived a fulfilled life.

The wife of the late senator made this disclosure when the leadership of Oyo state chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) led by its president, Ademola Babalola, visited the family of Ajimobi in the spirit of Sallah celebration.

Legit.ng recalls that Ajimobi finally breathed his last at the age of 70 after battling coronavirus-related symptoms for a month.

The former governor was said to be hospitalised at First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos on June 2, but he never recovered from the infection after his health deteriorated.

Mrs Ajimobi said she still misses her husband who she described as her strength and greatest supporter, adding that she has accepted the wish of God.
