Brother held for raping minor girl in Kerala's Valanchery

Valanchery: Brother of a 13-year-old girl was arrested at Valanchery in Kerala's Malappuram district for sexually abusing his sister. The 22-year-old man was held on rape charge after the girl revealed the incident during a counselling session.

She had suffered abuse earlier from her father. The father was held seven months ago for abusing his four daughters. The girls have been under the care of Child Welfare Committee since then.

The new revelation came during one of the counselling sessions given to the girls at the care centre.

The brother was arrested by Valanchery police on complaint of the Child Line. The man, who was remanded to 14-days judicial custody by a local court, is lodged in Manjeri Sub-jail.
