Bruce Arians Calls Out Tom Brady After Loss To Saints (VIDEO)
by Darrelle LincolnTom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell to the New Orleans Saints 34-23 on Sunday.
Head coach Bruce Arians spoke with reporters after the game and he did not mince any words when calling out Brady’s bad decision making that cost them a few turnovers.
“One was a miscommunication between he and Mike [Evans],” he said.
“He thought Mike was going down the middle. It’s a different coverage. Mike read it right. He should’ve bent across his face, but Tom just overthrew it. The other one was a screen pass with an outlet called. He threw the outlet, and there was a pick six. Bad decision.”
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might have parted ways with former No. 1 overall draft pick Jameis Winston after five seasons because of turnovers, however, it would be new quarterback Tom Brady who struggled and turned over the ball in his Buccaneers debut Sunday.
It was just his fourth loss in a season opener, and it was the third consecutive game in which he threw a pick-six (last season’s AFC wild-card game vs. the Tennessee Titans and a Week 17 loss to the Miami Dolphins, both while with the Patriots).
