Covid-19: With 4198 Positive Cases, Odisha Reports Record Single Day Spike, 11 Deaths

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 cases in Odisha continue to surge with the State reporting the ‘highest’ 4,198 new virus cases in the last 24 hours pushing the positive tally to 1,55,005. On the other hand, the virus claimed 11 more lives, taking the death toll to 637.

Of the new cases, 2476 were reported from quarantine centres and 1722 were local contact cases.

As per the statistics compiled by the Information and Public Relations department, Khordha reported the maximum number of 758 cases followed by Cuttack (367), Puri (310), Bolangir (197), Sundargarh (196) and Jajpur (156).

With the spike in COVID-19 cases, the active case count stands at 35,673, while 1,18,642 have so far recovered from the disease.

According to the Health and Family Welfare department, Cuttack reported four deaths, followed by two deaths each in Bolangir and Khordha, and one death each in Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh districts respectively.
