Nagarjuna to play Chief Minister in his next?
by Murali RaviMahi V Raghav’ YSR biopic ‘Yatra’ was released in February last year in which Malayalam star Mammootty played the lead role. The film, despite its mixed critical response, was received well and much-loved by movie lovers. Later Mahi V Raghav announced that he would come up with Yatra 2. While Yatra was based on the life of Former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh YS Rajashekar Reddy, the upcoming film will follow the journey of his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The second part of Yatra will focus on YSR’s son and present Andhra Pradesh chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. If ongoing buzz in media and film industry are to be believed, King Nagarjuna will be seen as Chief Minister Jagan in Yatra 2 under the direction of Mahi V Raghav. Let’s wait for an official announcement regarding the inclusion of Nagarjuna in Yatra 2.
Yatra followed YS Rajasekhar’ efforts to revive the fortunes of his national party, which was losing ground to regional powers in the then undivided Andhra Pradesh. YS Rajashekar Reddy took out a padayaatra in 2003 during which he covered a distance of nearly 1500 kilometers across the state on foot.
It helped his party sweep to power in general and assembly elections. The movie ended with YSR taking oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh but not before showing the crying and wailing images of millions of people over the untimely death of their beloved leader.
