Fortnite to get faster with the partnership of NVIDIA and Epic Games

by

Popular gaming platform Fortnite will now get faster, beautiful, snappy and responsive on PC with the addition of NVIDIA technologies. Ray-traced visual effects, NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA Reflex and a custom RTX map are a few of the things that will be added to the new edition.

This is happening because of the new partnership between Epic Games and NVIDIA. Immersive ray-traced effects, powered by GeForce RTX’s RT Cores, will improve the details of Fortnite’s graphics.

With NVIDIA DLSS, performance will be enhanced with Tensor Cores, found exclusively on GeForce RTX 20 and 30 Series GPUs. NVIDIA Reflex will lessen the time it takes for the actions of the games, like the movement of the character that will be displayed on the monitor will have increased responsiveness.

The new NVIDIA technology is all about ray-tracing and artificial intelligence. Second generation ray tracing, innovative use of AI with DLSS, and a large raw performance boost will help in the graphics of the gaming as has been noticed by Marcus Wassmer, Engineering Director – Graphics, Epic Games.

Back in 2018, the development community unveiled the Reflections, the world’s first ray-tracing demo that astoundingly ran in real-time, at high resolutions, with world-class denoising, at a smooth, fluid framerate. This will now be available to all Fornite modes.

These effects will be launched in September that will enhance the visuals as promised. The Ray-Traced Reflections provides beautiful, realistic, super-accurate reflections on bodies of water and other suitably reflective surfaces in Fortnite.

The Ray-traced dynamic shadows have also got improved visuals. The Ray-Traced Ambient Occlusion helps in creating subtle shadows where objects meet and light is occluded. This Ambient Occlusion (AO) is the key to grounding objects and the smallest details.

Ray-tracing will only make this more accurate in all spheres. Fortnite RTX Showcase Map To showcase the possibilities of ray tracing and DLSS, the company has partnered with top Fortnite creators to craft the RTX Treasure Run, which will be launched sooner by the company.
