‘Slaughtered by Arteta ball’ – Arsenal fans laugh as Unai Emery’s Villarreal concede wonder goal

Villarreal started their new season under Unai Emery yesterday

Arsenal fans have all been left laughing on social media following the latest clip to emerge of Villarreal under Unai Emery.

The former Arsenal boss who famously succeeded Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium before being sacked 18 months later does not have the admiration of many Gunners’ fans following his unsuccessful spell in north London.

The Yellow Submarine got their 2020/21 La Liga campaign underway yesterday at home to Huesca and found themselves conceding a first half lead thanks to a superb team goal scored by former Manchester City defender Pablo Maffeo.

In an excellent passing move that started from Huesca’s goalkeeper, the visitors made light work playing through Emery’s side before Maffeo finished the move off.

Villarreal did get back into the game through a Gerard Moreno equaliser that led to the game finishing 1-1.

However, the video of the goal has emerged on social media, with many of Arsenal’s fans quick to compare Huesca’s team goal to a style of play similar to the Gunners’ under Mikel Arteta.

Here is how Arsenal fans reacted to the video on Twitter.
