Mickey Gall removed from Miguel Baeza fight at UFC Vegas 11 due to injury

by

Mickey Gall was expecting to make his second Octagon appearance in just the past three months next weekend at UFC Vegas 11, but the welterweight veteran will have to sit out due to injury, per an initial report by MMA Fighting.

As a result of Gall’s withdrawal, undefeated prospect Miguel Baeza is without an opponent for UFC Vegas 11. Luckily, UFC has been magnificent in pulling fights together last second over the past few months so “Caramel Thunder” shouldn’t have an issue staying on the card.

Gall confirmed the unexpected news in a social media post on Friday, explaining how he suffered an injury in training and made the call to pull out of the fight after seeing the MRI results.

Gall, 28, is coming off a unanimous decision loss to welterweight brawler Mike Perry this past June. Since his high-profile submission win over CM Punk back in 2016 Gall has traded wins and losses throughout his UFC tenure. This includes victories over Sage Northcutt, George Sullivan, and Salim Touahri, but also defeats to Diego Sanchez, Randy Brown, and the aforementioned “Platinum.”

UFC Vegas 11 will go down on Sept. 19 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, and feature a main event grudge match between welterweights contenders Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley.
