It promises to increase your enjoyment while viewing Facebook Watch videos by being able to see the reactions of your loved ones in real-time over Messenger video calls and Messenger Rooms. Micheva emphasized that through this tool Facebook is trying to transform the time spent with your family and friends into an in-person experience as much as possible.

Whatever you may be watching, a music video, a sports highlight or a Facebook Watch original, the feature allows you to see the reaction of your friends at the same time. It mimics the experience of actually spending time with them.

Watch Together also helps the creators to reach out to their community through a Messenger video call. If you are a chef or a fitness trainer, your audience can now watch your video and interact with you over a Messenger video. You could virtually work out with your friends and try to meet your fitness goals instead of working out alone.

Using the feature is very simple. When you start a Messenger video call or create a Messenger Room, access the menu by swiping up and select Watch Together from there. It lists categories like “TV & Movies”, “Watched” and “Uploaded” to choose from.

You may also select a video from the Suggested section. In case you want to access a particular video you can also search for it in the search bar. While watching the videos using the Watch Together feature there is a limit of eight people on a Messenger video call and a limit of fifty people in Rooms.

Facebook has made its Watch Together feature free for its users. Nora Micheva stated that It will be rolled out worldwide in this week in Messenger and Messenger Rooms on mobile for iOS and Android.
