Man’s greed for 1 acre land drives him to axe 80-year-old mother to death
An 80-year-old woman died after being attacked by her younger son over a land dispute at a village in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

Vijayawada: An 80-year-old woman was allegedly hacked to death with an axe by her younger son over a land dispute. The incident took place at Annaram village in Andhra Pradesh’s Rompicheral Mandal on Saturday.
Police said the victim, identified as Kondeti Tirupatamma, used to live with the son of her elder son. She owned one-acre land which she had decided to gift the land to her grandson as she lived with him. However, her younger son, identified as Kondeti Yedukondalu, did not agree with her decision.
Drunk man kills mother
Yedukondalu, in a drunken state, arrived at his octogenarian mother’s house on Saturday and attacked her with an axe, leading to her immediate death. He fled the house as she fell to the ground. The crime was reported to the police. A manhunt has been launched to nab Yedukondalu, The Times of India reported.
Meanwhile, a man died after being attacked by his family members in Vinukonda town. Police said the victim, identified as Abraham, had two brothers Sambaiah and Adam. On Friday, Sambaiah attacked Adam, following which Abraham rushed to the spot for calming the situation. When he reached there, he was attacked by Sambaiah and his sons. He was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed on Saturday.
Another incident
In a similar incident, a 45-year-old beautician was allegedly murdered by four killers, who were hired by her estranged husband and son. The victim, identified as Geetha, was staying at Mangammanapalya locality in Bengaluru, Karnataka. She had separated from her husband Anjanu BR 15 years ago and their son Varun A lived with Anjanu, police said.
Geetha’s father had gifted a residential property to Geetha’s son while she was eyeing it. Varun sold off the property for Rs 2 crore. The buyer, however, withheld payment of Rs 50 lakh as Geetha had lodged a civil case. The father-son duo requested her to withdraw the case, but she refused to budge. Subsequently, they decided to get her eliminated.
