Looks like your algorithm can not process simultaneous requests. We had to re-run your algorithm without simultaneous requests and will apply relevant penalties during the final scoring.

In our preliminary tests, this submission received the following scores (out of 100):

It'd be interesting to see any logs or errors about how it failed for "Today" mode. Did the volume of news per day increase substantially compared to what we saw in the sample news dumps?

When tested on sample news dumps, indexing speed was constant w.r.t. size of the index, assuming more or less constant news volume per day. Updates and deletes are constant as well.

So the only reason I can think of is unusually high (compared to provided sample data) news volume per day. For example, the same 2M news spread over a month should've worked just fine.

В ходе тестирования алгоритма были выявлены следующие недостатки в ранжировании:

1. RU
– Отсутствуют некоторые главные сюжеты в разделе ‘Main’ и внутри категорий.
– Заголовки некоторых сюжетов не отражают их содержание.
– Нарушена сортировка статей в части сюжетов: нерелевантные статьи отображаются выше релевантных.
– Некоторые главные сюжеты нерелевантны для широкой аудитории из России.

2. EN
– Отсутствуют некоторые главные сюжеты в разделе ‘Main’ и внутри категорий.
– Заголовки некоторых многих сюжетов не отражают их содержание.
– Многие главные сюжеты нерелевантны для широкой англоязычной аудитории.
